However, our services aim to alleviate this burden and give trades back their weekends. We offer detailed, marked-up plans for quick review and submission to clients, saving valuable time. Additionally, we also provide clarifications and assumptions if there is any missing information or ambiguity so you can swiftly raise a request for information (RFI).

  • As a homeowner seeking to undertake a renovation or a new build can be a daunting process, especially when it comes to controlling the budget. It is crucial you do your due-diligence and get a detailed estimate of what your project is going to cost. Your builder will obviously provide you with a quote for the project, however it is prudent to engage an external professional estimator who can provide a detailed bill of quantities (BOQ) breaking down the budget into fine detail showing you exactly how the budget is formed. The BOQ can be used as a powerful tool serving as a benchmark to ensure you are getting exactly what you pay for.

F.A.Q

  • We aim to have a fee proposal over to you the same day. Along with the fee proposal we will also let you know how long it will take to complete the estimation.

    For renovations & new builds you can expect a lead time of 5-7 working days. Smaller projects can be turned around quicker and very complex large projects may take an additional 5 working days. For trades such as a brickwork BOQ you can expect a lead time of 2-4 days.

    If it is extremely urgent we can expedite the process for an additional fee.

  • This varies between each project depending on complexity. Below serves as a rough guide for our standard estimates. Add-ons such as value engineering and programmes will be an additional cost.

    - Trade BOQ you can expect it to cost $250 - $700

    - Small to medium renovations $1200 - $2200

    - Large renovations & new builds including duplexes - $2200 - $3200

    - Complex ultra high end projects & developments - $3200+

  • Our rates are sourced through relationships formed with trades over many years. Over the years we have built up a large database of rates for multiple tasks. We are also conscious that you cannot apply a rate to everything, there are situations when minimum charges and day rates apply which we take into consideration.

    When choosing the most appropriate rate we take into consideration, volume, location, difficulty & contractual terms of the work being undertaken. For example, a tiling rate will differ from a high-end build to a project home. It will also differ depending if you are working on large or small areas & even if the project contractual terms are cost plus or lump sum.

  • We pride ourselves in producing realistic budgets so when you receive quotes from trades they come in on budget. It is beneficial that clear architectural / engineering plans are sent through which makes the process of quoting more streamlined.

  • Yes, as part of every estimate we will send you through an editable BOQ in Excel format. This also applies to our programmes, we will issue a Microsoft project file for you to edit as desired.

  • Yes, we offer the flexibility to customise how you would like to present the information to your client. If requested, we can create a professional presentation with your logo & company colours that can be sent directly to the client which includes a:

    - cover letter

    - tender summary

    - clarifications / exclusions

    - schedule of rates

    - programme

    - document transmittal

    We can send through a sample to see if this is something that you are interested in.

  • We are specialists within NSW, however if required we are able to provide estimates for other states.

  • No, all jobs are priced inhouse. We offer support throughout and after we submit our cost report with any questions you may have.
